PLANTING DAY
The City will arrive
with a truck loaded with: NEIGHB0R
trees WOODS
mulch
stakes & ties
extra tools
spades
shovels
rakes
street brooms
stake pounders
The Urban Forester will conduct a short planting demonstration.
Trees and stakes will be distributed to each planting site.
City staff will stay to help until all the trees are in.
If we are experiencing a dry spell when we plant these trees, the volunteers will need to water
the trees after planting them. Then water weekly (15 gallons) until it rains.
TIP - It's much neater and easier, when digging the hole, to place the soil on a tarp.
TIP - When planting bare root trees it is important to "save" as much soil as possible, so
please skim off the sod rather than dig it up. The sod can be placed in your compost pile.
day.nbw
