NEIGHBlig It.
OR
WOODS
TIME LINE FOR NEIGHBORWOODS ACTIVITIES
1. Canvas your neighborhood for people interested in planting trees in front
of their home. Write down their names, phone #(s), species of tree(s)
requested, and the number of each tree. (copy of this form is within this
folder)
2. Send the above information to the Urban Forester (best to keep a copy).
3. You'll be notified when the City has the trees available for planting.
(The tree nurseries will have them available any where from November to
February)
4. We agree upon a planting date - any day of the week, during daylight
hours.
5. A few days later the City prints up the notification letters for you to
deliver to your neighbors letting them know when the planting is going to
occur. The notice should give them a week or two for your neighbors to
fit the planting into their schedule.(sample copy in the folder)
6. About the time you deliver the notices, you can also mark the planting
spots with a small white dot (paint supplied by the City). Then notify the
Urban Forester that the sites are ready to be checked for utility conflicts.
7. The City shows up with a truck load of trees, stakes, and tools as per the
date and time as decided in the above lines 4 & 5. The city personnel
will help until all the trees are planted. See the note called "Planting
Day" for the order of events.
8. The City will send out reminders to all the people who planted trees
letting them know when to start watering trees (during the summer
drought). Other information will also be sent out in a timely manner.
outlinez.nbw
