Citizen Involvement
A staff team consisting of staff from the City of Eugene Planning and Development Department,
Eugene Public Works Department, Lane Transit District, Lane County Public Works
Department, Eugene Water and Electric Board, and gimlet' Horn Associates, Inc (Engineering
Consultants) have developed proposals in the Eugene Local Street Plan with input from various
citizen, neighborhood, and special interest groups
In February and March, 1995, a series of public information and scoping meetings were held
throughout the city. An attempt was made to meet with each of the eleven neighborhood groups
whose boundaries contain large areas of undeveloped land. Staff prepared the draft plan
following meetings with neighborhood and special interest groups. Additional information
briefings and public meetings will be held in the fall of 1995 to insure that the community -at-
large is aware of Eugene Local Street Plan proposals prior to public hearings on the plan.
Because the planning area includes unincorporated areas within the Eugene Urban Growth
Boundary, the Local Street Plan map will be reviewed by the Lane County Board of
Commissioners. However, the full plan must be adopted by the Eugene City Council. Public
hearings on the Eugene Local Street Plan are expected to occur in late fall, 1995.
Plan Implementation
The section explaining that implementation of some of LSP will occur through the Zoning
Code Review Project has been deleted. All recommendation in this plan will be accompanied
by implementing ordinances.
3
