NOTE: Regardless of the code exemptions, Springfield Development
Services Department has requested notification from EWEB whenever
any tree felling or major trimming activities are planned within city
limits.
LANE COUNTY: Regulates felling of more than 5 trees greater than
or equal to 8" in diameter within a 12 month period on any single acre
in the area between Eugene city limits and the Eugene Urban Growth
Boundary. Parcels of less than one acre are considered as one acre in
area.
The County has additional regulations on removal of vegetation within
the riparian setback areas along Class 1 streams designated for
riparian vegetation protection by the Rural Comprehensive Plan.
The permit is administered by the City of Eugene; file for a permit
with the Department of Public Works (687 - 5220). There is a fee.
NOTE: The Department of Forestry regulates felling of trees for
commercial harvest within Lane County. The Department requires a
permit for use and refueling of portable power saws within Eastern and
Western Lane Forestry Districts. The permit is obtained at the district
office.
