c) A "Notice of Tree Removal" posting shall be placed on the tree. <br /> This notice shall include: <br /> (1) Reasons for the planned removal <br /> (2) Where photographs and documents supporting this decision may <br /> be viewed <br /> (3) Name and telephone number of city contact person <br /> (4) Approximate date of the planned removal <br /> (5) Approximate date and species of replacement trees <br /> d) CITY staff will evaluate all comments received regarding the <br /> proposed tree removal and. if appropriate, make a determination on <br /> its removal. <br /> e) Upon receiving authorization from CITY staff, EWEB will remove the <br /> tree. <br /> f) The tree stump will be removed by the CITY with costs to be <br /> reimbursed by EWEB. <br /> g) In instances where the tree needs to be removed for reasons in <br /> addition to conflict with utility lines, the removal and <br /> replacement costs may be shared as agreed to by EWEB and CITY <br /> staff on a case -by -case basis. <br /> E. TREE PLANTING <br /> CITY and EWEB agree that whenever a tree has been removed, it is in the best <br /> interest of the community to have replacement trees planted. When a tree has <br /> been removed at EWEB's request due to conflict with utility lines, the <br /> following replacement criteria will be used: <br /> 1. Two replacement trees shall be planted for each mature street tree <br /> removed. Replacement trees shall be planted by CITY with costs to be <br /> reimbursed by EWEB. The City's Urban Forester shall select the <br /> replacement trees from a list of species and caliper which is developed <br /> and agreed on by EWEB and CITY. (SEE ATTACHED LIST) <br /> 2. Replacement trees shall be planted within the right -of -way abutting the <br /> same tax lot where the mature tree was removed unless deemed impractical <br /> by the Urban Forester. If such is the case, the Urban Forester will <br /> make every reasonable attempt to plant the replacement trees within the <br /> local neighborhood. <br /> 3. If a property owner on a collector or local street informs the CITY that <br /> replacement trees are not desired abutting their property. the Urban <br /> 4 <br />
