GAPS Home Page Page 2 of 3 <br /> The Department has instituted new procedures for payees to establish new bank <br /> accounts in GAPS, in addition to any changes to bank account information. The <br /> following information must be mailed to the Department: <br /> • Original SF 1199A, Direct Deposit Form and/or Fedwire Sign -up forms <br /> containing signature of both the payee and bank officials <br /> • Copy of the Grant Award Document <br /> • Cover letter written on payee's official letterhead requesting the new bank <br /> account or any changes to the bank account information are established. The <br /> cover letter must contain the payee DUNS number, e-mail address (if <br /> available) for the person to receive automated notification and original <br /> signature and phone number of the person requesting the bank information <br /> A letter regarding the new procedures was mailed to all recipients. For additional information, <br /> please contact Claudia Staplefoote at (202) 401 -1117. <br /> ACCOUNT BALANCES REPORT ENHANCEMENT <br /> GAPS has been enhanced to provide an account balances report. The report lists al <br /> awards a recipient has with the Department of Education and provides pertinent <br /> account information on one screen such as: authorization amounts, net draws, <br /> available balance and last day to draw funds. Grant awards within the report can bf <br /> sorted by award year, award, and recipient reference or by last day to draw funds. <br /> Similar to the GAPS activity report, the account balances report provides the most <br /> timely and accurate account information which may also be printed. <br /> VIEW -ONLY ACCESS IS NOW AVAILABLE <br /> The view -only access enhancement provides users with the ability to view paymen <br /> requests, available balances, print activity reports and much more.
