Work Location: This work will be conducted at the Stewart Pond/Bertelsen <br /> Nature Park Complex. <br /> 2. Objective: To excavate and remove all existing concrete foundations, concrete <br /> slabs and rubble from areas indicated on the attached map to support the <br /> restoration of the site to native upland prairie. <br /> 3. Specific Instructions: <br /> a. Access to the site shall be via Steward Road parking area. Provide work <br /> zone traffic control measures. <br /> b. Site access (beyond the parking area) is restricted. Due to the sensitive <br /> nature of the site, the contractor and contractor's crews and equipment are <br /> restricted to the area of excavation as flagged in the field by the City of <br /> Eugene. The primary purpose in restricting vehicular access is to prevent <br /> compaction, soil erosion and/or disturbance to desirable native vegetation <br /> on the site. Contractor and contractor's equipment shall minimize soil <br /> disturbance to prevent erosion and/or the spread of weeds on the sites. All <br /> equipment, vehicles or material staging will occur only within pre - <br /> approved work areas. At no time are equipment, materials or vehicles <br /> allowed beyond the area of excavation. <br /> c. All trucks and construction equipment must be power washed and shall be <br /> inspected and approved for entry immediately prior to being brought on- <br /> site. Equipment will be free of soil and fuel, petroleum, oil or lubricant <br /> products. Equipment leaking coolant, fuel or oil will not be allowed on <br /> site. Equipment that develops coolant, fuel or oil leaks shall be repaired <br /> promptly, or, at the direction of the City of Eugene, removed from the site. <br /> Any equipment that develops a coolant, fuel or oil leak shall be shut down <br /> immediately and the leak immediately contained. Containment shall be <br /> maintained until equipment is repaired or removed from the site, and the <br /> containment is cleaned up and removed from the site. <br />
