The
minutes were approved:
Report From Facilities Committees on Site Analysis
Dave Battaglia passed out an analysis sheet. He started with Middle School facilities
that looked like a higher priority for upgrading. He is working on a detailed inventory
which will help in narrowing the field for final draft.
Involvement from other agencies (4 -J, Willamalane, Kidsports, Springfield Schools)
would move the process along more quickly.
The draft will identify what facilities are out there on any given week.
Barbara Keller stated that this plan will serve all the various users. She also suggested
that we use the word potential instead of priority. She requested that we have some line
item about who currently has dibs or desires on these fields. It would also be helpful to
have whether or not there is lighting and parking available at these sites. It was agreed
to use the phrases: potential usage, parking spaces and parking potential, and lighting.
It was suggested that the plan should also include stated conditions of usage.
Jim Johnson stated that chances are money will be available in the future and we'll
need to have a priority system. The intent is to narrow it down to an inventory of what
is available, so when the time comes we will be able to relay exactly what is needed
and where it is needed for funding.
Steve Cornacchia noted that next year there will be a new visioning of the Regional
Strategies, which sets priorities for lottery funds, and we will need this inventory as
well as a needs analysis to make a case eventually to the Oregon Economic
