They are going to
concentrate on the sports fields(softball) and the flat fields(soccer) first. They'll take up
the issue of gymnasiums next. The commission was invited to take a look at the area maps
and give any input on fields they know of which had not been circled. Jim also requested
that members call Dave Bataglia (687 -5212) if they remembered any other fields that were
not mentioned or circled.
It was suggested that George Wingard be invited to the commission to discuss his
basketball court facility. Charles Warren suggested that Mayor Bill contact him.
Report from Participation Committee
Bob Josephson reported that the participation committee will be sending out surveys to all
the High Schools in the areas to get input from the leadership classes. The class then
would tabulate the findings and send the surveys back to us. A suggestion was made to
put the question of why the students idn't plan on participating. An example might be the
cost or insurance needed for participation. Also add a question as to whether they would
participate if there were smaller groups.
Report from Marketing Committee
Tom Jordan has sent a report out, and is asking for feedback. The report is attached and
will be discussed at the November meeting.
Update of Events
Al King reported that he will be attending the Soccer America Expo in December to help
market the Rotary tournament.
