Findings <br /> Bailey Hill Elementary <br /> City staff recommend further evaluation of this site as it was rated high for <br /> use as a potential landbank for affordable housing. The site does not present <br /> a suitable site for neighborhood park or recreation use, and the area is <br /> already considered adequately served by the recreation and open space <br /> amenities at Kennedy Middle School and Churchill High School and Youth <br /> Sports Park. <br /> Dunn School <br /> There is moderate interest in using Dunn School for affordable housing. <br /> While surrounding residents are not well served by neighborhood parks, the <br /> site does not provide sufficient space and access to serve in that capacity. <br /> Laurel Hill School <br /> Laurel Hill School was not found to be a suitable site for affordable housing, <br /> and the neighborhood is well served by the existing neighborhood park <br /> directly to the south of the school. The city would hope to continue a strong <br /> collaboration with future leasees or property owners of the school to ensure <br /> good access and recreation opportunities for the Laurel Hill Valley. <br /> Santa Clara Elementary <br /> The property owned by School District 4J around Santa Clara Elementary <br /> presents a number of potential opportunities that deserve further evaluation. <br /> These include park and recreation amenities in addition to affordable <br /> housing. <br /> Westmoreland Elementary <br /> The residents surrounding Westmoreland Elementary park are considered <br /> well - served by neighborhood parks. Within '/2 mile walking distance <br /> residents can access Acorn, Berkeley, and Garfield Parks, as well as the <br /> Amazon bikepath. Westmoreland Community Park is also within <br /> reasonable proximity to these residences. The site does, however, provide a <br /> strong opportunity as a landbank for affordable housing. Additional review <br /> of this site for affordable housing is recommended. <br />
