Classifications: The criteria below are used to determine class designations for all <br /> uses of school facilities. The classes are listed in order of priority with Class I <br /> being the highest. <br /> Sponsorship means the sponsoring entity is directly involved in coordinating, fund- <br /> ing, planning, and operating the activity. <br /> Cosponsorship means two or more agencies or organizations through a joint arrangement <br /> provide assistance to one another in putting on an activity in one or more of the <br /> following ways: 1) coordination, 2) funding, 3) planning, 4) in -kind services. <br /> Class I School District Sponsored, Cosponsored, or Approved Activities <br /> A. School sponsored activities for students (school clubs, intramurals). <br /> B. School sponsored activities for patrons (plays, open houses). <br /> C. School related groups and organizations cosponsored by the school (PTA's, <br /> local school advisory committees, school recognized booster clubs). <br /> D. District 4J sponsored or cosponsored activities (wellness, staff development <br /> and student enrichment activities). <br /> E. District approved municipal park & recreation sponsored programs and <br /> activities. <br /> F. District approved nonprofit community organization sponsored programs for <br /> school -age children (except those events which have the primary purpose of <br /> fund raising.) <br /> G. Official municipal neighborhood organizations that do not require membership <br /> fees or dues. <br /> Class II Civic and Service Use <br /> A. Community organization meetings of a civic or service nature. <br /> B. Church sponsored activities if fees or donations are not collected beyond <br /> the rental costs. <br /> C. Church services (Board Policy 9110.1) <br /> D. Meetings sponsored by county, city, state, and federal agencies including <br /> local water boards, commissions, etc. <br /> E. Adult or youth education programs sponsored by local non - profit educational <br /> institutions (UO, LCC, Portland State). <br /> F. Local adult groups if no fees are charged to participants beyond the rental <br /> costs. <br /> G. Local nonprofit organizations if no fees are charged to participants beyond <br /> the rental costs. <br /> H. Youth education classes sponsored by nonprofit organizations, (dance exercise <br /> classes, drama, music, sport camps, etc.). <br /> Class III Private or Commercial Use <br /> A. Nonprofit organizations collecting admission fees or donations beyond the <br /> rental costs. <br /> B. Profit - making organizations. <br /> C.
