everyone seemed very happy, pleased, and I only saw smiling, tired kids leaving
the Yard! Good job. Lacey Risdal, PW Maint and PW POS
I agree with Karen Loy, there was some frustration with how long some of the
kids were waiting in line. With all of those excited little kids I doubt there is a fix
for that, but encouraging them to move around from display to display was
helpful. I would have liked to see the first water station (behind Police) be a little
easier to get to. If it were near the front gate it would be helpful, my tour had
ridden LTD and they had to work pretty hard to get to the water. I LOVE where
the Tiny Town was this year. My tour was able to do the "standing in line" thing
for a while and then they were able to break away for free play before the trailer
ride. They enjoyed a mellow lunch near Water World and the Hip Hop traffic cop
was a perfect ending to a perfect tour. Great job everyone! The teachers
commented on how much they learned. They appreciated how organized and
well prepared everyone was. Their favorite displays were the trailer ride and the
composting station. They will definitely be back next year! Karen Roybal, PW
Eng
I think things went well, the getting to the truck ride with out the group waiting a
long time is a matter of keeping group at an other booth and the guide holding a
spot in line for his group; I have found that this helps a lot and just takes some
timing with the teachers. One problem this year is the lunch area for the groups
with not enough seating for all of the groups that try and take lunch at the same
time as the rest of the groups. We could use more tables and chairs or try to get
groups to move their lunch times by 1/2 hour +/- or open another area for groups
for lunch (the TV truck bays were used at one time) to take the pressure off the
main lunch area I think that seating for 50 -60 should do it. Mike Wilson, PW
Eng
I thought it went well overall. The group that I had was not interested in doing
tiny park until the very end. So we went through the site and then came back to
tiny park. I think they wanted the "unstructured activity" of tiny park at the end
rather than in the middle of their visit. Carolyn Weiss, PW POS
