MEMORANDUM <br />January 12, 1990 <br />TO: Public Works Division Managers <br />FROM: Bob Hammitt, Maintenance Director <br />SUBJECT: PUBLIC WORKS DAY <br />Public Works Day is on the agenda for our January 16th staff. Here are some <br />of the items we need to make a decision about. <br />1) Date, Time, Location. <br />I believe National Public Works week is May 20 -26 this year. Would <br />somebody please verify so we get the correct week this year? We usually <br />hold on Thursday so May 24th would be the date. The hours we have used <br />in the past are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. <br />If we stay on schedule with the service station facility we will be <br />under construction at Roosevelt on the 24th. I think these are the <br />CA) Delay construction until after the event. <br />B) Go ahead with construction and tell the contractor not to work <br />a� l on that date. Barricade off the construction area and stay at <br />Roosevelt. <br />j� C) Move to another site such as Airport or Waste Water Treatment <br />Plant. <br />2) Food - <br />A) What is the menu? Do we stay with hot dogs, popcorn and a <br />variety of drinks? <br />B) n ineering,.did a great job with food last year. Do we give <br />them a opportunity again this year? <br />C) Budget for fooe Several divisions to split costs? <br />D) Free food for employees? Keep a supply of dogs in the <br />employee room? Some employees got caught in lines at the food <br />window so by the time they got something their break was up. <br />3) Guest Speakers: <br />A) Get on mayor's calendar <br />B) Defasio? - Hostika? - Forles? - ?? <br />
