PUBLIC WORKS DAY RECAP
Comments from the public
More publicity; better signing for Transportation Division.
Should have planned tours for children all day.
More display for divisional display, larger, much larger.
You are doing a fantastic job; enjoyed the open house.
Thank you.
Thank you for inviting us! Marie /Library.
This was very interesting and everyone so helpful and friendly, but event not
well publicized.
Great! Learned a lot and enjoyed it. Do it again.
Very good! This is a very good idea. You should have it every year. I'm*
looking forward to it next year. All the employees were nice, helpful, and
considerate!
Fine! Do this great show next year!
Comments from employees
Tell all your folks a big THANK YOU for the royal treatment and tour today.
The equipment, photos, stastistics, and people are impressive!
Best part was watching the children get big eyed at the equipment. Worst part
was that Peter DeFazio did not come. Need more white arrows on the pavement
to give better directions to next event. People would reather have hot dogs
than popcorn.
Best part was backhoes set up for people to operate.
Worst part was opening ceremony, speaker mike was terrible.
Need better speakers to draw public. To change event, something different in
the equipment display, maybe fewer pieces of equipment with public encouraged
to sit /get into each one.
Need more push at the high school level, possibly speaking to group before
hand, giving them info on careers in government agencies.
Would put more load on equipment operation but maybe separate time could
be developed for different groups. Kids on equipment was great when time was
slack. Sometimes they kept adults off that may have wanted to run equipment
but let their kids first.
Best part was children operating equipment. I was originally opposed to this
but it worked out fine. While we could let children with families operate, I
still would oppose those with groups operating.
