Memorandum
To: Johnny Medlin
CC: John Etter
From: Teresa Bishow
Date: September 12, 1994
Subject: Eugene Parks and Recreation Plan Update
On August 30, 1994 you requested that I provide a cost estimate for Planning
Division expenses associated with an update to the Eugene Parks and
Recreation Plan. Since our meeting I have:
a. Reviewed previous park update files,
b. Reviewed Planning Division expenses during the previous update,
c. Discussed with John Etter, John Weber, and Gary Chenkin the existing
plan and key issues that may emerge during an update,
d. Discussed with Jim Carlson general cost estimates for potential L -COG
data development and maps, and
e. Evaluated potential costs associated with document production, printing,
postage, advertising and miscellaneous materials and supplies.
Attached is a preliminary budget for Planning Division expenses. The total
estimate is $142,475.00 The budget is based on the Planning Division
providing the following key services and products:
a. Project management including development of a work program, citizen
involvement program, and record retention system. Periodic progress
reports would be provided throughout the project with information
concerning project time line, costs, and quality of products.
b. Document production including primary text editing, coordination of
needed maps or graphics, and preparing reports for printing.
c. Implementation of citizen involvement program including the selection
and staffing of any special citizen advisory committee, community
workshops, press releases, and other public information materials.
