I do agree and thank them very much for their efforts. It is very true
that it is not their fault that they had so little time. Nor is it their fault that they were not experienced park
personnel with in -depth understanding of our issues.
However in hind - sight, I'm not sure that I didn't make a mistake in agreeing to go in that direction. It may
well of been easier to explain to my staff and patrons that our site was unavailable and under construction
than finding myself now in a situation where I'm receiving so much internal and external complaint.
However, that is water under the bridge and now I need to move this forward. After talking to Fred this
morning about possibilities, I think it would be good if we could come up with an agreed on plan of
approach to look at improvements to our web site.
Fred Suggested to me a 2 -prong approach. First a short term and then a longer term approach.
First for the short term, we work with the site as is to try to get it working and more aesthetic / graphic
elements on it. While this is difficult with the three column format I do believe improvements could be
made within the existing format and with Bob Blanchard given the authorization to do so then we could
start working on that.
My ideas for the longer term would be we could contract with a web consultant familiar with this product
and see what we could do to get a product POS would be more comfortable with.
I heard some good things about the consultant listed below, perhaps he would be a possibility.
Your thoughts?
Thanks
Johnny
From: BLANCHARD Bob C
Sent: Mon 7/18/2005 11:25 AM
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
7/20/2005
