15 <br />BALLOT MEASURE COMPONENTS <br />Questions 2a through 4 (ex. 2f, 3e, and 4c) <br />These questions were designed to gauge support levels and to rank relative support for possible <br />components of a athletic facilities, open spaces, and parks ballot measure. <br />There were several broad patterns observable among the responses to these questions. <br />1. Maintenance of existing assets was preferred to building new ones. . <br />2. There was a general ranking of parks preferred to athletic facilities preferred to open spaces. <br />3. There was a qualitative difference in the demographics of respondents which separated the <br />open spaces and parks ballot components into one group and the athletic facilities into another <br />group. <br />4. Generally, those most supportive were younger respondents and those with children. <br />Generally, those most opposed were those aged 60 and over and those from west Eugene. <br />
