El <br />A TELEPHONE SURVEY OF REGISTERED VOTERS <br />REGARDING PARKS IN EUGENE <br />May, 1998 <br />PURPOSE OF THE STUDY <br />The purpose of this study is to assist the City of Eugene in determining attitudes of Eugene <br />voters regarding parks in Eugene. <br />METHODOLOGY <br />Advanced Marketing Research was hired to conduct the research project in order to obtain <br />unbiased and statistically valid results. <br />Based on questions drafted by the City of Eugene, Advanced Marketing Research designed a <br />questionnaire instrument to be administered by telephone. Using a list of registered voters <br />"likely to vote" purchased through Rick Lindholm, 1,600 information pieces were mailed out. <br />Follow -up phone calls were made, and 400 interviews were completed. Telephone interviews <br />were conducted between May 1 and May 10, 1998. <br />Proper data analysis techniques were employed by Advanced Marketing Research to avoid <br />introducing unnecessary error and bias into the study. <br />QUOTAS <br />The following quotas were observed: <br />Males 45 -49% <br />Females 51 -55% <br />Democrats 46 -50% <br />Republicans 31 -35% <br />Other 17-21% <br />Age 60+ 28 -33% <br />k <br />&R &P <br />
