The Parks Planning work unit would be elevated to the level of an independent section.
The existing position of Parks Planning Manager would assume the role of the section manager reporting
directly to the Division Manager. This is an elevation of authority and recognition of the importance of
the functions provided by this section. No other program changes or personnel changes are
recommended. The lead role for land acquisition priorities would be established in this section and
acquired through the engineering divisions real property staff.
October 19, 2000 7
