Introduction <br />Business Description <br />The Knotty Pine at Laurelwood is the working title for a medium to large size restaurant, <br />capitalizing on the fare offered at parent site, Agate Alley Bistro, but in a slant towards <br />traditional Northwest cuisine, serving distinctive entrees, small dishes, sandwiches, <br />original cocktails, diverse worldly wine selections, and local microbrews. It will provide <br />service to the regular golfing clientele, the local neighborhood patrons, and to parties for <br />catered events including weddings, receptions, reunions and corporate meetings. The <br />restaurant's identity will build on Laurelwood§ rich history in Eugene as well as the site's <br />extensive use of knotty pine in the interior to create a cozy, comfortable environment. <br />The identity will also be accentuated by furnishing and decor typified by Agate Alley <br />Bistros eclectic style. <br />Business Formation <br />The business will start by October 1, 2010, with an aim for opening on or about March <br />1, 2011. The company form will be a Corporation, with Agate Alley Inc. as majority <br />partner (90 %) and Jeff Strom as a minority partner (10 %). Agate Alley inc. is a co -equal <br />partnership between Douglas Beaird as principal operator and James Beaird. It will be <br />registered with the state of Oregon. <br />Executive Summary <br />Business goals /mission <br />As a restaurant, our goal is to expand the visibility and viability of Laurelwood golf <br />course as a prominent popular fixture in the Fairmont neighborhood, the university <br />community and Eugene as a whole. As a restaurant, we plan to build on Agate Alley's <br />positive reputation in the community to acquire local and regional renown within the first <br />year of opening. <br />Our main mission is to provide the highest standards of product, menu selection and <br />especially hospitality to our patrons in the surrounding community. Furthermore, we <br />intend to provide catering services on -site for parties renting the facilities at Laurelwood <br />for private events. Our objective, which will be reflected in everything we do, is to <br />contribute to the enrichment of the quality of lives for the people in and around this area <br />as well as to create approximately twenty new jobs in this time of economic downturn. <br />Location <br />The Knotty Pine at Laurelwood will be located in the upper level of the clubhouse, <br />currently called the Fireside Room, at Laurelwood Goff Course at 2700 Columbla Street <br />in the Southeast hills of Eugene, Oregon.
