It will provide
service to the regular golfing clientele, the local neighborhood patrons, and to parties for
catered events including weddings, receptions, reunions and corporate meetings. The
restaurant's identity will build on Laurelwood§ rich history in Eugene as well as the site's
extensive use of knotty pine in the interior to create a cozy, comfortable environment.
The identity will also be accentuated by furnishing and decor typified by Agate Alley
Bistros eclectic style.
Business Formation
The business will start by October 1, 2010, with an aim for opening on or about March
1, 2011. The company form will be a Corporation, with Agate Alley Inc. as majority
partner (90 %) and Jeff Strom as a minority partner (10 %). Agate Alley inc. is a co -equal
partnership between Douglas Beaird as principal operator and James Beaird. It will be
registered with the state of Oregon.
Executive Summary
Business goals /mission
As a restaurant, our goal is to expand the visibility and viability of Laurelwood golf
course as a prominent popular fixture in the Fairmont neighborhood, the university
community and Eugene as a whole. Furthermore, we
intend to provide catering services on -site for parties renting the facilities at Laurelwood
for private events. Our objective, which will be reflected in everything we do, is to
contribute to the enrichment of the quality of lives for the people in and around this area
as well as to create approximately twenty new jobs in this time of economic downturn.
Location
The Knotty Pine at Laurelwood will be located in the upper level of the clubhouse,
currently called the Fireside Room, at Laurelwood Goff Course at 2700 Columbla Street
in the Southeast hills of Eugene, Oregon.
