FA November 2, 2009 <br />Robin Whaley <br />E yU E 9 N E 3737 Plumtree Drive <br />Parks and Eugene, OR 97402 <br />Open Space Dear Dennis, <br />Keeping Eugene Gpeen Parks and Open Space (POS) staff is pleased with the increased activities at Golden <br />Garden Park this year. Noticeable and notable changes include increased recreational <br />use, habitat changes for wildlife, and increased wildlife species using the ponds, <br />A DIVISION OF PUBLIC WORKS including Western pond turtles. <br />O The 2009 season of in -water dog training at Golden Gardens Park resulted in POS <br />EUGENE , OREGON REGON 9 9 7402 7402 <br />issuing 17 permits to park users from neighboring local and distant cities, up from <br />(541) 682-4800 11 permits issued in 2008. As you may recall, the 2009 season ended Saturday, <br />FAX(541)6824882 October 31, after which vehicle access inside the park and in -water dog training <br />WWW.EUGENE -0R.GOV /PARK5 activities will be prohibited. <br />The combination lock securing the north gate entrance, off Clear Lake Road, will be <br />changed effective immediately. <br />PARKS AND OPEN SPACE PLANNING POS staff may review Vehicle Access Permit requirements for 2010 in upcoming months, <br />and any changes will be included in materials sent during the course of issuing 2010 <br />PARK OPERATIONS permits. <br />Your request for a Vehicle Access Permit for in - water dog training purposes in 2010 will <br />URBAN FORESTRY require a request in writing, similar to your previous requests, and may be submitted at <br />your convenience beginning in February to Clara Matsler in our office.
