The fountain is expected to be back in commission by Saturday, July 22. <br /> The work includes pressure washing the structure, grouting small cracks in the bowl, <br /> applying a clear penetrating sealer to stabilize the aggregate concrete surface, repairing the lip of <br /> the bowl so water flows over it in an even sheet, and installing a new waterproof membrane and <br /> river-sand finish to the collection basin at the base of the pool. Repairs to the fish sculpture are <br /> also being mad by the original sculptor, Tom Hardy, at his studio in Portland. <br /> Constru~tian will be scheduled to avoid conflict with Saturday Market activities, the <br /> Downtown Farmer's Market, or lunch hour uses of the park block. Concrete Repair Systems of <br /> Eugene is doing the work under contract to the Eugene Public Works Department.
