This will be the fourth in a <br /> successful se ies of volunteer ivy pulling projects that have focused on removing English ivy <br /> from the tru s of trees. Summer removal work focuses on the trees because the ground is too <br /> dry and hard ~o pull ivy out by the roots. With the expected arrival of fall and winter rains, ivy <br /> removal will hilt to ground work in October and November. Stay tuned for details. <br /> Since June, volunteers from throughout the city have removed ivy from trees on over ten <br /> acres of park land. Come join the fun when we cap this summer's tree efforts, then turn our <br /> attention to Being the other native plants in the forest. Volunteers and park staff will meet at <br /> the F.M. Wil ins Picnic Shelter at 9:30 am, pick up tools and head out to the woods.
