Then w service originally was scheduled to begin November 1. <br /> <br /> ~I, The airl ne plans to make a formal announcement about a number of system changes, <br /> <br /> ail including the p stponement of the Eugene-Salt Lake City service, on Tuesday. The airline's <br /> <br /> I~ reservation sys em is not expected to reflect the change until Thursday, October 4. <br /> Bob No le, manager at the Eugene Airport said he was disappointed, but said Delta's <br /> <br /> I <br /> move was not nexpected. <br /> "Given he turmoil facing our nation's airlines, the decision by Delta/Sky West to <br /> postpone initiat on of new service at Eugene was expected," Noble said. "Although this news is <br /> discouraging, I emain optimistic that conditions will improve. I have expressed to Delta <br /> executives our upport and interest in receiving them when they are in a position to move <br /> forward with thi initiative. The community looks forward to local access to the Delta system, <br /> with direct, non stop service to Salt lake City, one of the top priorities for air service <br /> <br /> i <br /> development fo the region." <br /> <br /> ~ Eugene Airport currently offers approximately 30 direct flights a day to and from <br /> <br /> (,Portland, Seattl ,San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, and Los Angeles, with connecting flights to <br /> <br /> !national and international locations.
