i.. <br /> January 10, 002 <br /> CONTACT: Dave Colley, Concrete Crew Supervisor, 682-4836 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> CO CRETE REPAIRS TO CLOSE LANE ON EIGHTH AVENUE THIS MONTH <br /> East ound traffic on West Eighth Avenue will be detoured around Monroe and Jackson <br /> streets fors veral weeks as repairs are made to the concrete street. <br /> Cre s from the Eugene Public Works Department will begin the street repair project on <br /> Sunday, Ja uary 13. It is anticipated that it will take two to three weeks to replace the <br /> deteriorate concrete street panels in the two-block section of Eighth Avenue. The project is <br /> i funded thro gh the City's road fund, which comes primarily from state gasoline tax receipts. <br /> Mos of the repairs are in the eastbound lane on Eighth Avenue. Eastbound traffic, <br /> <br /> ! including in ound buses, will be detoured onto adjacent streets until the project is completed. <br /> The westb nd traffic lane will remain open to westbound traffic, including outbound buses, <br /> with some hort delays throughout the day.
