- - ~ ~ ,o ~ ,o <br /> May 22, 2 03 <br /> CONTAC Tom Larsen, Traffic Engineer, (541) 682-4959 <br /> From Publ c Information Section, (541) 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMM DIATE RELEASE <br /> Union acific Starts Work to Upgrade Railroad Crossings at Six Locations in Eugene <br /> Un on Pacific Railroad is scheduled to begin work next Tuesday, May 27, to upgrade six <br /> railroad cr ssings in Eugene. <br /> Fo the first week, crews will sawcut paving and generally prepare for construction at the <br /> six crossin s: Hilyard at Eighth Avenue (just east of the former Agricpac plant), High Street at <br /> Fifth Aven e, and Pearl, Lincoln, Lawrence, and Washington streets north of Fifth Avenue. <br /> During the preparation phase, traffic in the work zones will be limited to one lane controlled by <br /> flaggers, a d motorists may experience brief delays. <br /> Be inning June 2, crews are scheduled to begin the actual construction, which consists <br /> <br /> ~ of rebuildin the crossings with concrete pavement.
