Skinner <br /> Butte Loop etween Lincoln and W. 3'~ will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Road access to the <br /> top of the b e is available via the eastern section of the loop, accessed off of W. 3ro from High. <br /> By t e end of the four-hour-plus work session, visitors to the park should notice the <br /> difference. a volunteers, in conjunction with Parks and Open Space staff, will have recovered <br /> some prime views from the butte by removing several trees, added gravel to paths around the <br /> parking lot, emoved invasive species, prepared the big "E" for painting at a later date, and <br /> removed b sh and other debris around the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson historical house. <br /> The ffort is in part guided by the Skinner Butte Park Master Plan adopted in 2002. The <br /> park's mast r plan calls for the restoration and long-term preservation of popular, historically <br /> significant vi ws from the summit of Skinner Butte, native upland prairie habitat that once <br /> covered nea y ail of Skinner Butte, and trails. Since 1996, the Eugene Rotary Club has <br /> sponsored s venal significant volunteer rehabilitation and beautification projects on Skinner <br /> Butte, includ ng the Veteran's Memorial overlook and flag.
