The Eugene City Council recently formally designated the
new street s Shelton McMurphey Blvd in recognition of two families who had lived in the

II
historic ho a now called the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House.
Pu lic Works staff will install new street name signs at both ends of the boulevard in
early June. Meanwhile, the stop sign configurations at both ends of the new street have been
changed t provide greater safety. On the east end, the intersection of Shelton McMurphey
Boulevard, Pearl Street and Fourth Avenue has been modified as an all-way stop. On the west
end, the st p signs have been changed so north-south traffic on Lincoln Street stops and east-
west traffic on Shelton McMurphey Boulevard/Third Avenue has the right of way.

~
Publ c Works • Administration • City of Eugene • 858 Pearl Street • Eugene, OR 97401
Phone: (541) 682-5262 • FAX: (541) 682-6826 • www.ci.eugene.or.us
