During construction, sections of <br /> Hilyard Stre twill be closed for extended periods of time. <br /> To m nimize inconvenience, the work on Hilyard Street will occur in two phases. Phase <br /> 1, from 13'n 18tH avenues, begins June 19 and continues until approximately August 1. During <br /> that time, Hii and and all east-west crossing streets will be closed to through traffic between 13tH <br /> and 18tH ave ues. During the first week of construction, the contractor will reconstruct the <br /> I', intersection f Hilyard and 18tH Avenue. East-west traffic on 18t" Avenue will be detoured to 19'" <br /> ~ Avenue until he intersection work is completed on the morning of June 2, weather permitting. <br /> Phas 2 construction, from 18tH to 24tH avenues, is scheduled to begin approximately <br /> August 2 an continue through approximately September 5. Hilyard and all east-west crossing <br /> streets will b closed to through traffic from 18tH to 24tH avenues during that period. <br /> ~I <br /> Side alks will remain open during construction; however, east-west pedestrian and <br /> I, bicycle crossi gs through work zones may be closed or under construction. <br /> City s aff has worked to ensure that emergency access will be provided at all times to <br /> Sacred Heart Hospital. Reasonable access will be maintained for local businesses, and <br /> ~ residents can make arrangements for temporary local access while work is under way. <br /> The $ million reconstruction project is being done by Wildish Construction under a <br /> I, contract desi ned and managed by the Eugene Public Works Department.
