By <br /> knowing the cu rent baggage security rules, packing accordingly and following other travel tips, <br /> travelers ca s ve themselves time and frustration and have a more enjoyable travel experience. <br /> Rec gn~zing that each time acarry-on bag is searched it slows down the line, the <br /> <br /> Transportati n !Security Administration (TSA) is encouraging air travelers to remember a simple <br /> <br /> formula: 3-1 1 Stands for 3-ounce bottle or less, 1quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag, and 1 <br /> bag per pas~erger placed in the screening bin. <br /> For I n~er trips, TSA recommends placing liquid in checked luggage. Prescription <br /> medication , baby formula and milk are allowed in quantities exceeding three ounces and are not <br /> required to a ~n a zip-top bag. However, these items must be declared for inspection at the <br /> security ch ck~oint. Items not allowed include explosives, flammable materials, and weapons. <br /> Oth r ti s for holiday air travelers: <br /> • Lea a lenty of time -arrive at least an hour before scheduled departure. <br /> • Nev r I~ ave vehicles or baggage unattended. <br /> • Re er~iber that only ticketed passengers are allowed past the security checkpoint. <br /> • Don t attempt to take wrapped presents through the checkpoint; instead ship them ahead . <br /> or p act them in checked bags. <br /> • Avo d putting things of value in checked bags. <br /> • Brin al carry-on bag and include things like medications, reading materials, valuables and <br /> a c any a of clothing. <br /> • Be lex~ble when making holiday travel plans; it can help travelers find cheaper fares and <br /> les -cr~wded flights. <br /> Forimore information, visit the TSA web site at www.tsa.gov.
