~ ® ~ ~ <br /> <br /> July 28, 200 <br /> CONTACT: Therese Walch, Water Resources Manager, 541-682-8647. <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> Public Comments Sought On Stormwater Management Plan <br /> The ity of Eugene is seeking public comments on proposed revisions to the city's <br /> Stormwater anagement Plan (SWMP). <br /> Eug ne's SWMP is the set of best management practices that reflects the city's <br /> commitmen under its federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) <br /> stormwater ischarge permit to reduce pollutants to the maximum extent practicable. The city's <br /> current NP ES permit will expire in February 2009. In preparation for the permit renewal, the <br /> City has ev luated its SWMP to ensure that it continues to meet the objectives of the Clean <br /> Water Act a d is proposing several modifications. <br /> Fact sheets about the proposed revisions are available at City offices, including the <br /> Public Work Building, 858 Pearl St.; the Permit & Information Center, 99 West 10th Ave.; the <br /> Water Pollu ion Control Facility, 410 F2iver Ave.; and Eugene City Hall, 777 Pearl St. <br /> To s bmit comments, or for more information, residents can go to the Internet at <br /> www.eugen -or.gov/pw (click on the NPDES link). Written comments should be mailed to <br /> NPDES Pe it, Eugene Public Works, 410 River Ave, Eugene, OR 97404. <br /> Co ments received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, will be summarized in a report to <br /> the Oregon epartment of Environmental Quality.
