GALLUP Steve S
From: SCHOENING Mark A
Sent: Friday, June 08, 2007 3:51 PM

To: INERFELD Rob
Cc: GALLUP Steve S; KLOPE Paul W
Subject: RE: W. 18th and Oak Patch future signal
I looked at the traffic signal list and this particular location meets 3 warrants and also has a high
crash rate. I agree that it would be worthwhile to install the conduits with the pavement
preservation project and that the traffic signal funding mother account would be the appropriate
source.
Mark ~ 2 ~I
i
From: INERFELD Rob 3~
Sent: Wednesda ,June 06, 2007 11:43 AM ~ f
y r ~ " ~ 1 ~
To: SCHOENING Mark A j'~1~"~
Subject. FW: W. 18th end Oak Patch future signal ~ ~~J
Mark,
Please see below. I meant to bring up Gary's suggestion with you at our meeting this
morning. Do you have any thoughts on this? Would it make sense to fund this out of
the $150,000 in traffic signal funding? Steve said it would probably cost around $40,000
to do this work in the future after the paving project is complete. If this is incorporated
into the project, it would be as a change order and Steve would need to give the go
ahead by the first of July; however, he really needs to know sooner so it could be
designed.
Lastly, Tom hasn't weighed in on this as far as I know. He is out this week and might be
back next Monday. I would expect that Tom would want to consider both whether this is
a good location for a future signal and also whether it is a good use of the limited funding
we have for new/enhanced signals.
Rob
From: GALLUP Steve S
Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2007 2:06 PM
To: INERFELD Rob
Subject: W. 18th and Oak Patch future signal
Rob,
I have been sent in your direction (by Randal D.) to see what the funding possibilities are for
installing underground conduit for a future signal at the West 18th and Oak Patch intersection. It
was suggested by Gary McNeel that it is a location that meets several warrants and has been on
our signal priority list for some time. Further, he suggest consideration should be given to
installing conduit crossings at this intersection for potential future signal installation work while we
are doing our PPP project in that area this summer. Let me know if we have money. I would
expect the cost to be around $20,000. Thanks.
