Introduction & background. <br />- some page elements are standardized City -wide (top banner, left navigation) <br />2. Discussion of goals and methods. <br />- focus on the important features while noting the minor issues <br />- look around at other divisions' web sites & note what you like <br />3. Brief introduction to the portal environment, some terminology and functionality. <br />- portlets: the building blocks of content and navigation <br />- a page is not a page: adaptive portlets & URLs <br />- spreading the wealth: allowing non - technical people to maintain their content <br />4. Assignments. <br />
