EUG
Skates how Eugen skat,2parks
July 31, 2013
Neil Bjorklund
Planning Manager
Eugene Parks and Open Space Division
1820 Roosevelt Blvd.
Eugene, OR 97402
RE: W -J Skatepark Donation
Neil,
It is with great happiness that we are enclosing a check for approximately $57,000 to the City of Eugene
from Skaters for Eugene Skateparks. As per our prior correspondences, these funds will be used
exclusively to help pay for construction of the 23,000 square foot skate park as planned under the
Washington- Jefferson Bridge in Eugene, Oregon.
Although you see only one single check, this is truly a collective donation from past, present, and future
skateboarders, supporters and family of skateboarders, as well as community members in favor of a
new direction for. Washington- Jefferson Park. On behalf of all the supporters of the skatepark and SES,
we want to again express our deepest gratitude for the City's leadership and commitment to move this
monumental project forward.
As we have discussed for many years, positive use will be critical to the success of this project. We are
optimistic that skateboarders will be a key positive anchor for the redevelopment of the entire park
area. With this in mind, we want to reiterate how important skateboarding only programming will be
once the skatepark opens. Maintaining select times spaced reasonably throughout the week for
skateboarding only as well as skateboarding only times for the youngest age groups will be imperative.
We make this donation with these understandings in mind.
Once again, thank you.
Best regards,
Bob Chandler
Treasurer, Skaters for Eugene Skateparks
infoSkateEuqene.orq
www.SK8EUG.orq
