To: TINTLE Robert D; SCHOENING Mark A
Cc: RODRIGUES Matt J; WILLER Jenifer M
Subject: 2008 Bond Funds and right of way purchases

Robert, Mark, Matt, and Jenifer;
In June we needed to purchase ROW for ADA sidewalk/ramp improvements on the following bond projects GJNs 4809 –
thnd
PBM 18: Washington – Chambers $200 and 4759 – PBM Blair Blvd: 2 – Monroe $3,511. To buy the property the
purchase and recording fees were charged to Fund 333 – Transportation SDC’s.

Resolution 4953 states “The bond proceeds will be used to overlay or reconstruct the driving surface of streets, as well
as to preserve existing integral elements of the street such as curbs, gutters, sidewalks, on-street bike lanes, traffic
signals, street lights, medians, traffic calming devices, and other integral parts of a street preservation project. These
preservation efforts will be undertaken only to preserve existing elements, not to expand the capacity of the street
system…”

I will move the expenditures to the bond funds unless I hear differently from PWE, for the following reasons.
1.ADA sidewalk/ramp improvements are required to bring access ramps up to code when preserving a street.

2.To bring it up to code The City needed more right-of-way.

3.This is preserving the existing ramp not expanding the capacity.

Tammy Smith

Financial Analyst

City of Eugene

Public Works Administration

Phone: 541 682-5834

Fax: 541 682-6826

E-mail: tammy.d.smith@ci.eugene.or.us

2
