On Sunday, July 21, and Sunday,
September 8,selected streets will be car-free, allowing people to walk, roll and dance freely. The

July event will be in downtown Eugene, connecting Kesey Square and Monroe Park along 8 and
th
10 avenues. The September event will be in the Bethel neighborhood, connecting Petersen Barn
th
Park and Gilbert Park.
These fun, free events presented by the City of Eugene feature major activity centers in the
city parks along the routes. Activities include live music stages, try-for-free fitness classes, hula
hooping, dancing and much more. With no designated start or finish, the two-way route can be
enjoyed by foot, bicycle, roller skates, skateboards, and other forms of transportation at each
person’s own pace. The event is designed to get the entire community outside, having fun and
enjoying healthy activities in Eugene’s public spaces while showing how easy it is to get around
without a car.
For online vendor and activity booth information, go to www.eugene-or.gov/essvendor.
More than 200 volunteers are needed for each event.
