The extended closure is necessary to allow enough time for the new concrete to <br />cure sufficiently to handle traffic loads. Southbound cyclists can detour to Mill Street to <br />access the Amazon Path. <br />While the street is closed for concrete repairs, southbound traffic on Pearl Street <br />will be directed to use alternate routes, such as Willamette Street to the west or Patterson <br />Street to the east. Access to local businesses will be maintained through driveways and <br />parking lot entrances along 18 Avenue.
