In my y_ 4151
experience the sensors are not picking up my presence and are failing to trigger the lights causing me to either, run the light or get off
my bike and walk over to the pedestrian trigger, neither of which is a good option. The two locations I have the most experience with
are W 11th and Willow Creek northbound and 29th & Willamette east /west bound. I have done some research on the problem (which
occurs in other areas also) and it seems the triggers need to be adjusted for the small footprint of a bicycle. Many bikes on the road are
aluminum (and increasingly carbon fiber) without a lot of ferrous metals to trigger the light therefore maximum sensitivity, without
causing nuisance trips, is paramount. Not knowing the installed equipments capabilities I can only assume there is room to remedy this
problem within the design of the currently installed equipment. Thank you for your attention to this matter, my personal phone # is 541-
228 -5527 if you desire to contact me.
