$20,000 from a source that will be identified in the next few days (potentially 98 bond, SDC rehab, other donation,
or Sierra Club settlement). This was the funding approved today by the POS Management Team
$93,881 TOTAL
With the $55,944 in expenses that we have incurred to date, this leaves a balance available of $37,937 ($93,881-
$55,944 = $37,937). We must keep the Phase 2 project costs within the current budget. No more money will be
allocated for this project, so let's be sure to manage the scope of work and contractor well.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
-- Eric
From: PROUDFOOT Emily A
Sent: Monday, August 27, 2012 2:13 PM
To: WOLD Eric N
Cc: BJORKLUND Neil H
Subject: Owen Rose Garden Phase 2
Hey Eric —
I wanted to send you an updated version of the Rose Garden Phase 2 estimate and make sure I fully understand the
funding scheme for this project so far.
My understanding is that we had $75,000 total to do the whole project, of which we spend about $50K this last spring —
leaving about $25K for phase 2.
I did a bunch of budget reconciliation and forecasting last week (in preparing for my check in with Neil) and it looks like
we've spent $55;944.38 to date and have $19,055.62 remaining. Here's a detailed accounting of expenditures to date:
1 11
Phase_l_Budget...
I've also been working Vince and Clay and Ginny to get a scope narrowed down for the next phase of work and it's
looking like we have about $38K worth of work to do to finish the second phase of work. This include some
unanticipated but needed irrigation upgrades that would actually help reduce water use and keep the new lawn
appropriately irrigated where we are removing roses. Here are the details of the scope so far:
11 8
Phase2 Estimate...
So my question to you is do we have $19K remaining from 2012 A6 and $25K from 2013 A6? Or just the $19K or just the
$25K? Let me know your thoughts on this — and then we can adjust scope /funding accordingly.
Thanks so much O
Emily
Emily Proudfoot, ASLA
Landscape Architect, City of Eugene Public Works
Parks and Open Space Division
