<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />July 10, 2012 <br /> <br />CONTACT: <br />Billie Moser, City of Eugene Community Events Manager, 541-682-6347 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />Traffic Advisory <br />Event will Close Two Downtown Streets on Wednesday <br /> <br />Eugene’s Summer in the City entertainment series starts Wednesday, July 11, with a <br />th <br />celebration of Eugene’s 150 birthday. <br />Abbey Road LIVE, a Beatles tribute band, takes center stage in Kesey Square at the <br />intersection of Willamette and Broadway from 6 to 8 p.m. During a special intermission show, <br />Radio REDUX, Eugene’s acclaimed new theater company that performs historic radio shows <br />live on stage, will present an exciting and original look at the city’s rich history, with special <br />guest stars Mayor Kitty Piercy, City Manager Jon Ruiz and Police Chief Pete Kerns. There will <br />also be community booths and activities for children. <br />To set up the stage and community area, Broadway will be closed between Willamette <br />and Olive streets beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Later in the afternoon, Willamette Street will <br />th <br />be closed between Eighth and 10 avenues, and Broadway will be closed between Oak and <br />Willamette streets.
