The tree guards were added later but because the tree grates <br />were purchased by the contractor from East Jordan Iron Works we needed to match the tree guard to the manufacture <br />of the tree grates to ensure a “manufactured to fit” connection between the two. The reason we decided to place tree <br />guards at this location was to ensure the tree survival in an area known for substantial vandalism. This is also the reason <br />that we needed to ensure a “manufactured to fit” connection so that the tree guards would be as resistant as possible to <br />hooligans and intoxicated individuals defending themselves from the trees. The connection between the two products <br />is the key to the tree guard staying solidly in place doing its job of protecting the trees.
