_ _ ITY EQUIPMENT City equipment, facilities, supplies, and other property are to be used only for City <br />business and will not be used for personal business either during or outside regular working hours... <br />This includes, but is not limited to, telephones, copy machines, computers, hand or power tools, <br />supplies, and vehicles. The City reserves the right to search or inspect City equipment or facilities <br />such as desks, files, lockers or offices from time to time for work- related.or administrative purposes. <br />Personal phone calls are highly discouraged during work hours, if necessary calls should be completed <br />on break/lunch times. No personal long distance calls are allowed to be made. <br />E -mail communications are the City's property and are also subject to Oregon's Public Records Law. <br />E -mail files are subject to search at any time, with or without notice. E -mail networks should not be <br />used for personal use, outside business ventures, or to solicit for political or religious causes. <br />Inappropriate or offensive messages such as those including racial or sexual slurs are prohibited. <br />Internet use is restricted to business p a poses only, No personal "surfin g " of the Internet will be <br />permitted. <br />1 TP y p <br />VEHICLES City vehicles are to be used for City business only. City vehicles may not be used for <br />transportation for lunch or coffee stops, if such use adversely affects job efficiency or increases City <br />costs. They are not to.be used to go to stores, restaurants, banks, or credit unions unless there is a <br />direct City - related business reason. Depositing or cashing of your City paycheck does not constitute <br />City business. The City has a direct deposit option for your convenience. <br />City vehicles are not to be used to transport any person(s) other than City employees except for reasons <br />of official City business. Employees are not to transport family members in City vehicles, without. <br />prior supervisory approval and a completed Release from Liability form. <br />City vehicles should be operated in a safe, courteous, and lawful manner. All applicable motor vehicle <br />laws will be obeyed. Seatbelts, if the vehicle is so equipped, will be used at all times pursuant to <br />Oregon law. The same standards of traffic law enforcement apply to City employees in the routine <br />operation of City vehicles as apply to citizens.. Any traffic or parking citations are the responsibility of <br />the driver. ' <br />It is the responsibility of the operator to report unsafe vehicle conditions to their supervisor. <br />Employees are also responsible for ensuring that City equipment is not abused. <br />VEHICULAR ACCIDENT REPORTING If you are involved in a vehicular accident while on the job you <br />are to contact your supervisor immediately. DO NOT LEAVE THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. A <br />vehicular accident reporting packet is in the glove compartment of each vehicle explaining in detail <br />what procedures you should follow. <br />RADIOS Employees are to keep radio conversation to a minimum. If a lengthy or controversial <br />conversation is required, then the employee should use a telephone. Absolutely no mimicking, animal <br />noises, or unnecessary radio conversations will be tolerated. (Supervisor should provide employee with <br />a copy of the radio numbers and procedures.) <br />UV _ PARKING : Private vehicles are to be parked in designated areas only. Do no parkin spots reserved for <br />visitors or other designated personnel. Temporary employees are required to park in the lot west of the <br />Transportation building.
