SICK LEAVE Temporary employees do not accrue sick leave. Employees should schedule
appointments during off -duty hours when possible. If appointments must be scheduled during work
hours, ensure arrangements are made to cause the least disruption to operations, i.e.: beginning or end
of shift.
PAYROLL TIME SHEET Federal Regulations require that we keep records of daily hours worked for
non- exempt employees. The time sheet records time in and time out each day, including overtime.
Time sheets must be completed daily. Once the pay period has ended, submit the timesheet to your
supervisor for approval.
COMPENSATION/PAY Paydays are bi- weekly. The City offers the direct deposit of pay to all
employees. Pay may be deposited electronically to checking or savings accounts in any bank, savings
& loan, or credit union. Employees are encouraged to use direct deposit. A voided check or deposit
slip along with a short authorization form must be submitted to Payroll in order to'take advantage of
this payroll system feature. Employees who wish to designate another person to pick up their payroll
check must sign an authorization form. Use of City vehicles during work time for banking and check
cashing is prohibited.
Employees are discouraged from requesting emergency draw checks. Although there is an avenue
available for requesting emergency checks, restitutions are such that most requests must be denied.
Employees requesting emergency draw check must first contact their immediate supervisor.
L EDUCATIONAL AID Training sessions are sometimes conducted during work hours. You may attend
such sessions provided you obtain your supervisor's approval prior to attending. You will be
compensated for time spent in training only when such training is required and approved by your
supervisor.
EMERGENCY WORK Employees are expected to be available and willing to perform emergency work
as required. All overtime must be approved by a supervisor and is computed for all the time worked
beyond six (6) minutes to the nearest one -tenth hour. Use the partial -hour codes located on the Tools
drop -down on your electronic timesheet for accurate computation. Employees must maintain an active
phone number where they can be contacted for emergency work.
9 - 4 - DRIVER's LICENSE /CDL A valid Oregon Driver's License is required. Employees who will be.
driving as a routine part of their job will be required to have the appropriatc classification of driver's
license including CDL (Commercial Driver's_ License) if necessary.
Some employees are required to have a valid CDL in order to perform their various assigned duties
New employees required to have a CDL in order to operate City vehicles must prove possession of
such a license before being assigned those tasks.
All City of Eugene employees who hold CDLs and operate City -owned commercial vehicles will be
subject to the federally mandated drug and alcohol testing requirements. This could include alcohol
and drug testing for pre - employment, reasonable suspicion, post- accident, random testing, return-to-
duty and follow -up. All tests will be conducted by the City Physician's office.
All employees who operate City vehicles will be entered into the State of Oregon Auto Flag System..
Drivers who experience any change in their operator's license status must report that change to their
supervisor immediately.
List Page 2 of 6 Document No. 683
Supervisor's Check List for SelecTemp Employee Orientation Last Revised: 03/23/2011
