The current 2012 season Vehicle Access Permit and <br />additional materials are enclosed. Please read this letter and the enclosed materials to make sure you <br />understand the requirements and limits of the program. We appreciate your continued consideration for <br />other park users you may encounter, such as pedestrians or bicyclists, and the wildlife and habitat this <br />wonderful park support, such as waterfowl and western pond turtles. <br />Only vehicles with permits from Parks and Open Space are allowed within the park boundary. The <br />permit must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard so it is visible at all times when the vehicle is inside <br />the park boundary. POS or City of Eugene Police Department staff may ask parties not displaying a valid <br />permit to cease training activities and remove vehicles from the park. <br />The north gate along the Clear Lake Road access site shall be kept locked at all times except when <br />entering or exiting the park. The lock combination for the access site is 9 -6 -4 -2 and entry is currently <br />available. Please contact John Clark at (541) 682 -4826 if you experience any difficulty accessing the gate <br />with the combination. <br />Monday through Friday permitted parking is limited to the road between the North and Main ponds <br />inside the designated jogging path, as shown on the attached map in orange, and parking on these days <br />will be more strictly monitored. On Saturday and Sunday, permitted parking is limited to these two <br />locations: (1) along the road north of the walking /jogging path at the north end of the ponds and (2) on <br />Jessen Street. Vehicles must be attended at all times. Failure to comply with these parking requirements <br />may result in a vehicle access permit being revoked. Please contact Clara Matsler at (541) 682 -4908 if <br />you have questions or concerns about the designated parking area. <br />Direct access to the ponds for dog training activities is limited to the Main Pond and North Pond, as <br />shown on the attached map. No more than two dogs per trainer are allowed to be active in the ponds at <br />any given time. In -water dog training activities are allowed from April 1 through October 31, daily from <br />7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please note limited vehicle parking on Saturdays and Sundays as referenced above. Dog <br />training in the fields away from the ponds is allowed only with prior written permission from lease- <br />holders of those fields. <br />No use of shock collars or powered launchers is allowed on Saturday and Sunday. Use of live birds as <br />training aids is prohibited. Use of bird parts as training aids must comply with the rules established by <br />ODFW on that subject. <br />Enjoy the park and thank you for referring your colleagues and friends to our office for in -water dog <br />training vehicle access permits at Golden Gardens Park.
