Noticeable and notable changes include increased recreational <br />use, habitat changes for wildlife, and increased wildlife species using the ponds, <br />including Western pond turtles. <br />The 2009 season of in -water dog training at Golden Gardens Park resulted in POS <br />issuing 17 permits to park users from neighboring local and distant cities, up from <br />11 permits issued in 2008. As you may recall, the 2009 season ended Saturday, <br />October 31, after which vehicle access inside the park and in -water dog training <br />activities will be prohibited. <br />The combination lock securing the north gate entrance, off Clear Lake Road, will be <br />changed effective immediately. <br />POS staff may review Vehicle Access Permit requirements for 2010 in upcoming months, <br />and any changes will be included in materials sent during the course of issuing 2010 <br />permits. <br />Your request for a Vehicle Access Permit for in -water dog training purposes in 2010 will <br />require a request in writing, similar to your previous requests, and may be submitted at <br />your convenience beginning in February to Clara Matsler in our office.
