OSPD did
(541) 682 aeno not issue a citation to the do trainer at the site but stated that one could be issued.
FAX {341168246,II.; g
ww - EKENE- OR.c00ARKs Upon further discussion with local OSPD I was informed.they feel this law applics to all
lands within the state whether privately or publicly held. OSPD referred me to Oregon.
Department of Fish and Wildlife for further information. OF &W staff confirmed both the
existence and interpretation of the nesting law. However, it was also stated there has been
Rt1'Kxaid R N'SPACEMARK1M A controversy about including training of dogs within this restriction and that the Oregon Fish
and Wildlife Commission may reconsider this issue later this summer.
PARK oFEMONS Unfortunately, I cannot continue to permit dog training at Golden Gardens between April 1St
and July 31 with OSPD taking the position that Golden Gardens Park falls within the
oRuNroREsTRS nesting area definition. Due to this, effective immediately all Dog Training Permits for
Golden Gardens are suspended until August 1, 2010.
NATURAL RESOURCES
If this.changes we will let you know.
Thank you,
Johnn Medlin, Director
Eugene Parks and Open Space Division
