Litter control - Minimum of once per day, five days per week. Use patterns may require more <br />frequent service which may be provided by, or at the expense of user groups. <br />Trash containers are provided and serviced regularly. Off-site movement of trash <br />dependent on size of containers and use by the public. <br />Pruning - Usually done at least once per season unless species planted dictate more <br />frequent attention. <br />Disease and disease control - Usually takes place when disease or insects are inflicting <br />noticeable damage, reducing vigor of plant materials, or could be considered <br />bothersome to the public. Some minor problems may be tolerated at the Mode Ik <br />YSP level. <br />Lighting - Replacement or repair of fixtures when observed or reported as not working. <br />Surfaces - Two categories of surfaces are included in the Mode II-YSP category: <br />Playing surfaces - Surfaces included within identified sports fields will be maintained in a <br />manner compatible with safe and enjoyable play, according to the sport, use <br />level, and surface involved. <br />Other surfaces - Should be cleaned, repaired, repainted, or replaced when appearance has <br />noticeably deteriorated. Graffiti should be removed or painted over within 24 <br />hours. <br />Repairs - Should be done whenever safety, function, or appearance is in question. <br />Inspection - Inspection by some staff member at least once a day when regular staff is <br />scheduled. <br />Floral planting - Not recommended in the Mode II-YSP category. Low-maintenance wildflower <br />plantings are a possible exception. <br />Rest rooms - Should be maintained at least once per day as long as they are open for public <br />use. High use may require more frequent servicing which may be provided by, or <br />at the expense of, user groups.
