This grant funding was made <br /> available by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). NOAA received a total of 814 <br /> 1820 ROOSEVELT BLVD grant proposals totaling than $3 billion. The Delta Ponds project of only 50 high priority <br /> EUGENE, OREGON 97902 p g more p ro j was one o y g p y <br /> projects selected through a competitive process to receive a portion of the available $167 million. <br /> (591) 6824800 <br /> FAX (591) 6824882 <br /> The NOAA grant, which has a timeline of August 1st, 2009 to July 31st, 2011, will create 4.6 acres of new <br /> Y4'1'W, EUGENE-OR _GOV /PARKS riparian and emergent wetland habitat and will enhance another 16.4 acres of riparian and emergent <br /> wetland habitat. Hydrologic connectivity will also be improved through the excavation of 7 channels <br /> between ponds, which will contribute towards the larger project goal of providing over two miles of side <br /> channel habitat for juvenile Chinook salmon. The bulk of the work will take place in 2009 and will create <br /> or retain 63 jobs in Lane County. <br /> ARKS AND OPEN SPACE Pi ANNIE <br /> The work funded by this grant will be completed under GJN 100017 (NOAA Delta Ponds AARA). The <br /> PARK OPERATIONS grant has been assigned grant code 669. <br /> URBAN FORESTRY NOAA is using an electronic, online grant tracking and reporting process for all of its grants, including <br /> the ones funded through ARRA. As a result, there is no hard copy contract to sign. The award <br /> notification, award acceptance, and cooperative agreement letter are all done via a secure online web <br /> Nt1URril RESaUX(LS site. The City's "Authorized Representative" for this online system is Debbie Wydra, Senior Financial <br /> Analyst, in Central Services, and Debbie has accepted the award online.
