.
, o~
r ~
From: Fred addox
Sent: Monday, June 28, 20101:45 P
To: Steve Rodolf
c: Jesse vl~illor; Tim Shell Subject: RE; F :MLK Paving Pavement repair
Categories: Filed by ewforma
Steve,
I did not include TPDT and Surveying although it makes sense. I also did not add ob. thinking the Contractor would
already have the equipment on site.
I had previously estimated 38O tons amain area} plus 3 tons wedge} = 423 tons AC. I was expecting another 52 or
so tons to cover the AC at the 20' wide repair area ~1G' wide after the CDF plug section is installed}, Instead, he
added 27 tans to came to 450 tans. So I believe he is about 25 tons short on the HMAC quantity now,
Similarly, he is about 20 CY's short on the additional Excavation quantity and about 12 tons short on the Base Rock quantity at the repair area.
Originally, there was to be 512 SY of 0-2" Cold Plane Pavement Removal on the Eugene side. So there will be a savings
realized of $2,048.
The new "Excavation" pay item price seems high but maybe reasonable considering the majority of the excavation is asphalt removal. Keep in mind, the DRB says unsuitable material identified
by the Geotech is to be removed using this
new item at 6ofCY so the Contractor may be upping the price to cash in on any unsuitable material identified for reovala
Fredrick P.
