CITY OF EUGENE
INTER -DEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM
Date January 30, 1973
To: City Manager
From Director of Parks-and Recreation
Subject. Land Use Agreement - Country Club Road and Coburg Road
Enclosed is the final land use agreement presented for our signature from the
Oregon State Highway Department concerning the above-mentioned piece of property.
I have also included the correspondence that led up to this agreement with
particular notice given to paragraph 23, which I had them add. The land use
agreement was not clear as to whose responsibility it was to remove the existing
buildings. The land use agreement now makes it the responsibility of' the City
of Eugene.
Now that we have this land available for our use, it will become necessary to
budget the necessary dollars to accompany demolition of the buildings, removal
of the gas tanks, and general preparation for landscaping. It is possible,
that I can use some of the Coburg Road irrigation funds to assist in this
project, but I don't know at this time the amount that would be available.
Also, I shall include in my Capital Improvement budget for next year sufficient
monies to landscape this median island.
Don Allen and Sherm Flogstad have reviewed the enclosed land use agreement and
find no problems with its content. Let me know exactly how you want to proceed on
the development of this project. Also, I assume that it can now be scheduled for
City Council action.
Edwin R.
